SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas was a global convergence of visionary thinkers, creatives, and technologists exploring the future of artificial intelligence, music, media, and digital identity. As a leading content creator in the tech and innovation space, MIA Digital Production was proud to provide full-scale video production and photography coverage across key moments of the conference.

Our primary focus was on AI and human expression, documenting sessions, panels, and interviews with industry leaders shaping the ethical and creative evolution of machine learning. One of the most powerful and thought-provoking sessions we recorded featured Holly Herndon — an internationally recognized artist and researcher known for her boundary-breaking work at the intersection of machine learning, music, and voice synthesis.

Holly Herndon's session explored the ownership and augmentation of digital identity through AI. With a Ph.D. in Computer Music from Stanford, Holly is not only a visionary artist but a co-founder of Spawning, an organization that builds AI tools for artists. She develops her own technologies and frameworks, often proposing them as artworks in themselves. Her SXSW talk — recorded and produced by MIA Digital Production — sparked conversations on authorship, voice cloning, and the ethics of generative models.

In addition to Herndon's keynote, we captured groundbreaking showcases such as the live demo of Dolly, an open-source LLM by Databricks, where the model “spoke” on stage in a compelling demonstration of generative AI’s real-time capabilities.
